The Most Annoying Submission In BJJ
By BJJWithADHD
- One minute read - 177 wordsI got caught with this submission about 15 years ago and it’s stuck with me. To my mind it’s the most annoying way to get subbed in BJJ just because of the emotional roller coaster from “I took their back I rule” to “wtf was that cheap $*#!”
Some folks like to build games around doing weird submissions from inferior positions. I know a couple of black belts who love to give up their back so they can try to catch arm-bars. It can be fun to play around with this stuff, which, hey, BJJ is nothing if not fun. But treat this move more as a novelty than anything. It can definitely work on good opponents. But don’t give your back to good opponents and count on this to bail you out.
Special thanks to Eric Stansifer (if he ever reads this) for catching me 15 years ago. I still remember the feeling of having to tap to this for the first time, and I’ve collected a lot of taps with this same move since then.
